Recent announcements from Alberta Health Services has changed our planning for the August rescheduled events. We have updated the list as well as clarified the changes below:
- Catch a Rising Star is now cancelled
- NOVA Dance Challenge is now cancelled
- Sparkle/Sparkle Bright Dance Festivals are now cancelled

Our closure and postponement updates have slowed down a little but there are some additions and changes that have been made. The big changes this time around relate to dance festivals that were postponed, which now have new confirmed dates. Here they are:
- Catch a Rising Star Dance Festival moved to Aug. 4-7, 2020
- NOVA Dance Challenge moved to Aug. 8-9, 2020
- Sparkle/Sparkle Bright Dance Festivals all moved to Aug. 11-16, 2020

Please see the full list below for updates. Inferno Dance Festival is postponed, we are working with festival organizers to determine a new festival date. Also, CAL – Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper is postponed, with the goal to reschedule this performance.

All shows up to April 29 have been cancelled or postponed. We’re working closely with dance festival organizers to see if there are ways to push back those dates.
Box Office update
At this time, our administration office including the box office is now working remotely until further notice, so we are not available in a physical location. We continue to monitor the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and will be updating this page as events change. Please check back regularly.
Box office staff hours are changing slightly during this time. Typically, the box office is open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, however, with the cancellation of shows, the box office won’t be open on Saturday.
The box office staff are working through cancelled shows and issuing refunds to clients and have done an excellent job communicating with ticket holders.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the challenges that come with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Effective today, all events leading to March 29 are cancelled or postponed. The decision to cancel these shows does not come lightly, however, with the guidance from Alberta Health Services we feel this is the best course of action for all stakeholders.
The Lougheed Centre staff will be contacting all presenters affected by this cancellation. Please see the list below for more details on performances in the closure window.
Patrons: All ticket holders for each event will be contacted by the Centre through email or phone.
Cancelled events: Patrons will be contacted via phone or email by the box office to process their refund.
Postponed show ticket holders: We are working with presenters to reschedule postponed events. Ticket holders for postponed events should hold onto their tickets for now and wait for communication from the theatre as to when those dates have changed to. At any time should ticket holders request a refund for events in the closure window, they can contact the box office by phone: (780) 608-2922 or email: email@example.com.

March 30 and forward
For now, all shows after March 30 and forward will remain open. The Lougheed Centre will be making regular updates related to future shows so please check this page on a regular basis as we strive to communicate with all stakeholders.
We want to thank all our patrons and presenters for their patience and understanding during this time. Our goal is to continue business as usual but our priority is the health and safety of our patrons so that we can continue the exciting work we have been doing.

Lougheed Centre closure due to COVID-19 coronavirus – Update 1 – March 12, 4:20 p.m.
As of March 12 at 3:30 pm., Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw issued the following:
“Effective immediately, we are asking all large gatherings or international events in the province to be cancelled and advising Albertans against travel outside of the country.”
“By ‘mass gathering’, we mean any mass gatherings of more than 250 people. This includes large sporting events, conferences and community events.”
For now, this direction will affect all events in the Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre.
Today’s Event – Gravity Dance Force Recital has been cancelled for today and will be rescheduled for a later date. We are asking patrons to hold on to their tickets for now. We will contact patrons directly with more information.

Staff at the Centre are working diligently to ensure the public remains safe and healthy during this time. In an effort to communicate with all stakeholders, this page has been created and will be updated regularly. While the building is closed to the public, staff are working and are contacting all affected stakeholders.
