Performing together since 1987, the Quartet is Edmonton’s most outstanding and versatile professional chamber ensemble.

They are well known for their world premiere performances of works by local and international composers for string quartets. They perform much of the Classical and Romantic repertoire and historically informed early music on period instruments.

The Strathcona String Quartet have released two highly praised CDs, which are frequently heard on radio stations across North America – including CBC radio and Edmonton’s own CKUA and CJSR.

Meet the Strathcona String Quartet:

  • Jennifer Bustin, violin
  • John Calverly, violin
  • Sarah Woodman, viola
  • Josephine van Lier, cello
