Roger Admiral and Steven Takasugi

Local pianist Roger Admiral will perform composer Steven Takasugi’s Klavierkonzert. The music is for solo piano and electronic sounds broadcast through loudspeakers placed around the Cargill Theatre.

The sounds themselves are brief samples of acoustic instruments cut into small pieces and arranged in an ever-evolving and rich mixture of textures similar to that of a heavy rainfall, whale song, and thunder.

The composer will introduce the music and there will be a brief question and answer period with the audience after the performance.
