While most of the audience never gets to see them, our technical team works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep every show you come to see beautifully lit and crystal-clear. The work our crew does is so incredibly vital to the success of every single performance—without them, we’d quite literally be lost in the dark, or the incredible stories on stage would go completely unheard!
We are so ridiculously proud of our production tech crew, and honestly? We jump at any chance to brag about them. From Toronto to “The Ears” of Camrose
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Peter is the youngest child of legendary figure skating commentator Pj “The Voice” Kwong (who also happens to be the pre-announcement voice here when you come see a show!) and Patrick Kwong, and brother to Caroline and Amanda. In the family dynamic, he’s ‘The Ears’, son of ‘The Voice’!
Peter’s expertise is grounded in a strong foundation of formal training and professional distinction. He graduated with Honours from Humber College’s Theatre Production program in 2012, where he was presented with the Senior Artistic Leadership Award. After completing a prestigious Work Study at The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in 2013, Peter brought his live event industry experience straight to Camrose, Alberta.
Fun fact: Peter’s very first day on the job was August 11, 2014—meaning he was in the building dialing in soundboards before our doors even officially opened! As the longest-serving member of the venue’s technical department, Peter has had a hand in nearly every show to cross our stages, from musicals and large-scale circus productions to full-length ballets and community events.
Now a proud Camrose resident for over 12 years, he shares his life with his wonderful wife Marie, their daughters Adelynn and Rosalie, and their beloved furry chaos-makers, Barkley the dog and Phyllis the cat.

- 1,000+ shows and events mixed to absolute perfection, including over 350 world-class performances
- 500,000+ patrons reached by sound filtered through his distinctive artistic lens and self-tuned audio systems
- 3,700+ hours dedicated specifically to community-driven events
- Frequent collaborator, instructor, and workshop coordinator for CITT (Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology) at both provincial and national levels
In support of his award nomination, community members and visiting artists alike highlighted Peter’s technical merit, deep artistic knowledge, and welcoming nature. Beyond his daily duties, he designed the popular Live Mixing Seminar for Backstage Access (a program so well-received it was replicated across the country!) and organized two internationally recognized audio seminars in partnership with Meyer Sound.
Off the Board & On the Court
When he isn’t shaping acoustic perfection for his personal favourite performers—like the Derina Harvey Band, Jeremy Fisher, and Jim Witter—you can usually find him dominating the local pickleball courts or passionately cheering on his ride-or-die Toronto Maple Leafs! (Hey, nobody’s perfect!)
