Looking for something to do this holiday season? We’ve got three awesome Christmas concerts at the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre in Camrose for the 2024 season that the whole family will enjoy.
As we continue to celebrate 10 years of the performing arts in Camrose, the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre staff have curated an awesome collection of artists, and the Christmas season is no different!
These three events are the perfect event for the whole family. Take a look at what’s in store for Camrose!
Barra MacNeils, An East Coast Christmas
Dubbed “Canada’s Celtic ambassadors,” the Barra MacNeils bring over three decades of performing their Celtic sound across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe. They sold out last year’s Camrose show, and we just had to bring them back to the Lougheed Centre.
It’s a live performance like none other, featuring six incredible artists in the family: Kyle (vocals, guitar, violin, mandolin), Lucy (vocals, bodhran, Celtic harp, fiddle, stepdancing), Sheumas (keyboards, piano, bodhran, fiddle, bouzouki, vocals), Stewart (vocals, accordion, tin whistle, flute, bouzouki, guitar, stepdancing), Boyd (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo, percussion, stepdancing) and Jamie Gatti (bass).
With 37 years under their belts, the Barra MacNeils bring a wonderful sound to the stage, celebrating Christmas, the holidays, and giving the audience a feeling of being by the fire with a hot cup of cocoa.

Jann Arden Christmas brings the multi-platinum, award-winning singer songwriter to the Lougheed Centre stage and we just can’t wait. It’s the kind of show that’ll have you wearing your favourite Christmas sweater with memories of making snowmen in the front yard.
Jann Arden is a household name in Canada and having her return to Camrose to perform two night of Christmas music is a great celebration of her music, the Christmas season, and 10 years of bring the performing arts to Camrose.

Rosa Barocca presents Handel’s Messiah
You can’t have Christmas without a special performance of Handel’s Messiah and the Lougheed Centre in Camrose is just the place.
This seminal work will be performed by Rosa Barocca, along with special guest, Calgary’s Early Music Voices. This is going to be an orchestral event, complete with choir and the incredible sound of baroque instruments.
Rosa Barocca, named for their use of baroque instruments, won the 2023 Juno Award for Best Classical Album of the Year – Small Ensemble, and we’re so excited to see them in Camrose. And for Early Music Voices, the choir focusses on medieval, renaissance, and baroque periods.
Handel’s Messiah is the perfect soundtrack connecting both groups together for a large stage presence. The sound of Handel’s Messiah and “Hallelujah” will ring throughout our main theatre to warm your hearts and spirits.
